Exosome & PRP Renewal Therapy

At PHI Medical Aesthetics, we use evidence-based approaches to support your skin's health. This guide explains Exosome Therapy and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), how they work together, and the professional, clinician-led approach we take to assess your skin's unique needs.

What is Exosome Therapy & PRP?

Exosome Therapy is often used alongside PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) microneedling. These procedures focus on using biological signals to support your skin’s natural renewal processes. By combining these two advanced methods, we're able to create a targeted environment for skin recovery.

How it works

PRP uses a concentration of platelets from your own blood. These platelets contain growth factors that play a big role in your body's natural healing response.

Exosomes are small, membrane-enclosed vesicles that act like "messengers" for cell-to-cell communication. They deliver signaling molecules (like proteins and lipids) between cells. In aesthetics, we apply them topically to help support skin renewal and quality.

When we pair these with microneedling, it creates micro-channels that allow these concentrated growth factors and messengers to reach the layers where they're needed most.

What can this treatment help address?

Exosome therapy and PRP are usually part of a comprehensive plan to help with several skin concerns:

Aesthetic Concern Target Benefit
Textural concerns Softens the look of fine lines and refines skin texture
Uneven skin tone Helps brighten and balance the appearance of the complexion
Skin hydration Restores a healthy, radiant glow and improves moisture levels
Post-procedure recovery Supports faster recovery and better results after microneedling

Who is a good candidate?

We'll determine if Exosome Therapy and PRP are right for you after a thorough consultation and a review of your medical history. Generally, patients should be 18 years or older and in good overall health.

This treatment might not be the best fit if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, have blood disorders or anemia, have an active skin infection in the area being treated, or if you're currently undergoing immunosuppressive therapy.

Frequently asked questions

How does this differ from standard microneedling?

Standard microneedling creates controlled micro-channels to stimulate your skin. Adding PRP and Exosomes introduces concentrated growth factors and signaling molecules into those channels. It's meant to support your skin's recovery and renewal more intensively than microneedling on its own.

What should I expect during the treatment?

The appointment usually takes about 60 minutes. We'll start with a small blood draw (for the PRP), which is processed in a centrifuge. Depending on your plan, we'll apply the PRP and Exosomes topically during microneedling or inject them into specific areas like the scalp or under the eyes. We'll often use a numbing cream beforehand to make sure you're comfortable.

Is there downtime?

You might notice some redness, similar to a mild sunburn, for about 24 to 48 hours after treatment. Some patients also see minor swelling or bruising at injection sites, but this usually clears up quickly.

How many treatments are needed?

Skin rejuvenation is a process. While every plan is different, we often recommend a series of 3-4 treatments spaced several weeks apart to see the best outcomes. We'll outline a personalized schedule for you during your assessment.
