HEALTH CANADA PRODUCT AUTHORIZATION

Our Commitment to Authorized Products

PHI Medical Aesthetics uses only Health Canada-authorized prescription drugs and licensed medical  devices. This page provides information about product authorization and how you can verify the products used in your treatment.

What is Health Canada Authorization?

Before any prescription drug or medical device can be sold or used in Canada, it must be authorized by Health Canada. This authorization process ensures:

  • Safety and efficacy have been demonstrated

  • Manufacturing quality standards are met

  • Product labeling is accurate and complete

  • Risks and benefits are properly characterized

Types of Authorization

Prescription Drugs (Neuromodulators)

Prescription drugs used in aesthetic treatments must have a Drug Identification Number (DIN) issued by Health Canada. This indicates the drug has been reviewed and authorized for sale in  Canada.

Common neuromodulators used in aesthetic medicine include:

  • Products containing onabotulinumtoxinA

  • Products containing abobotulinumtoxinA

  • Products containing incobotulinumtoxinA

Note: Specific product brands will be discussed during your consultation with your healthcare  provider.

Medical Devices (Dermal Fillers)

Dermal fillers are regulated as Class III or Class IV medical devices and must have a Medical Device Licence (MDL) issued by Health Canada.

Common dermal filler types include:

  • Hyaluronic acid-based fillers

  • Calcium hydroxylapatite fillers

  • Poly-L-lactic acid fillers

Note: Specific product brands will be discussed during your consultation with your healthcare provider.
