While injectable aesthetic treatments are generally safe when performed by qualified healthcare professionals, adverse events can occur. We are committed to monitoring, managing, and reporting any adverse events to ensure patient safety and contribute to national safety surveillance.
If You Experience Symptoms After Treatment
URGENT - Seek Immediate Medical Attention If You Experience:
Difficulty breathing or swallowing
Vision changes or loss of vision
Severe swelling of face, lips, or tongue
Signs of infection (fever, severe pain, pus, red streaking)
Chest pain or irregular heartbeat
Severe allergic reaction (hives, difficulty breathing)
Sudden weakness or paralysis
Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department immediately.
NON-URGENT - Contact PHI Medical Aesthetics If You Experience:
Unexpected swelling or bruising
Prolonged redness or tenderness
Asymmetry or unexpected results
Lumps or bumps at injection sites
Mild allergic reaction
Any other concerning symptoms

Reporting Adverse Events to Health Canada
You have the right to report adverse events directly to Health Canada’s MedEffect Program. Healthcare professionals are strongly encouraged to report, and patients may also report.

What to Report:
Serious adverse reactions (hospitalization, life-threatening, disability, death)

Important: You do not need to be certain that the treatment caused the symptom. Health Canada experts will assess the relationship.

All adverse events are documented in patient records
Serious adverse events are reported to Health Canada
Our Medical Director reviews all adverse events
We conduct regular safety reviews and quality assurance
We participate in post-market surveillance for product safety
