Meet Boey®: Botulinum Toxin Type E
Curious about neuromodulators, but not quite ready to commit? Representing a major development in neurotoxin options, Boey® introduces a new category to clinical aesthetics. As a rapid-onset, short-duration botulinum toxin type E, it lets you explore the look and feel of a smoother, refreshed complexion without a multi-month commitment.
What can Boey® treat?
Boey® is a Health Canada-authorized facial injectable designed for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe glabellar lines in adult clients. Also known as "frown lines" or "11s", these vertical lines between the eyebrows develop over time through repeated facial movements, like frowning and concentrating.
While traditional options like Botox® Cosmetic use botulinum toxin type A, Boey® is formulated with botulinum toxin type E. It's designed to temporarily block nerve signals that trigger muscle contractions, which can help reduce the appearance of lines in the treated area.
| So What's the Difference? | Boey® (Type E) | Botox® (Type A) |
|---|---|---|
| Effects may begin to appear | As early as 8 hours | Typically 3 to 7 days |
| Potential peak effect | Around 7 days | Around 14 days |
| Typical duration | Approx. 2–3 weeks | Approx. 3–4 months |
A Lower Commitment Option
If you've been curious about trying a neuromodulator but felt nervous about committing to months of results, you aren't alone. Boey® is designed as a quick, low-pressure preview so you can see exactly how a treatment looks and feels on your face.
Since the results last about 2 to 3 weeks, it's a great choice if you want to refresh your look for an upcoming event or just try it out. If you love your smoother look, you can always work with your Nurse Injector to move to a longer-lasting option like Botox® down the road.
