Is your skin dry and in need of a boost ?

Injectables used to mean one of two things, Botox or Filler. Both are fantastic and we could not live without either, but what if we could tell you that we have another treatment at PHI that will change how you feel about your skin. When assessing overall skin health, it’s not just fine lines and wrinkles that can make you look older. A dull, uneven skin complexion can age you just as much or if not more than wrinkles can. Yes, we agree those pesky elevens and crows feet can be the first to take a hike, but skin laxity, firmness and texture all play an important role in overall skin health. Your skin’s natural ability to shed dead cells from the surface declines with age, which will result in uneven skin tone and loss of radiance. Also, let’s face it, Calgary winters are just plain hard on our skin. The freezing cold weather and dry indoor heating are enough to drain any complexion of its usual glow.

After Botox and Filler appointments we often have patients ask us what else they can do to improve skin moisture and overall skin health. Of course medical grade skin care and Bend Beauty Anti-Aging vitamins play an important role in this, but keep reading for something were really excited about. With our increasing desire to look well-rested, well-slept and well-fed, we wanted to introduce a treatment that offers the longevity and effectiveness of a clinical procedure, but with the softness and natural touch that comes with skincare. Hydration Boosters are essentially placing moisture right into the dermis layer of your skin. This treatment is all about increasing hydration, elasticity, smoothing fine lines and just making skin look healthier and glowy.

We are no strangers to slathering Hyaluronic Acid serum on our face, but why not take this a step further and inject this magic ingredient deep down into the dermis with Hydration Boosters. Hyaluronic acid is a water-binding molecule found naturally in our skin, but like collagen it depletes as we age. When injected, HA increases hydration of the skin and keeps it looking smoother and supple for up to nine months. The injecting of hyaluronic acid also stimulates the skin to produce more collagen and elastin, which gives the skin a juicy, smooth quality to it. Remember with this treatment, the goal is not to necessarily alter the structure of the face like traditional fillers, but to improve hydration throughout the entire face, décolleté and hands. Hydration Boosters contain a form of HA that is produced differently than traditional filler, allowing the HA to disperse evenly in the injected plane of skin. Imagine how ripe and firm your skin feels after applying and massaging in layers of serum and cream, now imagine being able to hold that feeling in much longer.

The treatment itself involves a series of injections, which feel no different than your Botox ones. If you are scared of needles, we promise our kind, gentle nurses can calm and walk you through the procedure with ease. There is not a lot of downtime following the treatment, just some mild redness. Sure we can apply these ingredients topically, but remember they will always fall slightly short compared to something that goes right under the skin. The general cultural shift to wellness in all areas of our lives is nowhere more evident than the skin we are in. Wear your skin with confidence and remember healthy radiant skin is always the ultimate must have accessory.
